The Intuition
The Sixth Spiritual Sense
Intuition is not to be mistaken with instinct. We share instinct with animals but intuition is strictly for us humans. I am sure if you think hard enough you'll remember a moment in your life when you just knew, something or the other, you don't exactly know how you knew, you just knew, you were that certain. There was no doubt in your mind. That was you intuition at work. This sensation of clarity and knowing comes to us in a variety of ways. At times it passes through as a subtle thought, so much like the musings of the mind that we can easily miss it. Your intuition knows all and is always there to be tapped on demand. That is to say if you learn to attune yourself to that frequency, and free your mind from the inner chatter that goes on, then you can listen to what it has to tell you, what it wants to communicate to you.
Moments like this happen to everyone sporadically when you are unaware but you can actually with practice learn to develop your higher awareness so that you are able to make regular contact at your will.
For example, if you leave your house without your keys, your intuition will prompt you and if you listen you'll rectify the mistake immediately. If you don't, then you'll probably later say, I knew I forgot something! Your intuition will warn you if you are closing a bad deal that you shouldn't be doing, it can give you hints to go in a direction where you'll meet the right people, it can warn you of a coming disaster, it can help you make fast decisions when necessary and much much more.
It's like this, imagine you are listening to a radio and you are turning the knob so that you can hear a specific channel frequency, its there, the program is always there, but as long as you don't tune in your radio you can't hear the music. It's pretty much the same with your intuition. To be connected, you need to tune in with your mind and to focus. You need to filter through all the inner head chatter, all the surrounding sounds and noise, to focus, to tune in to the silence and to connect. I assure you it is possible for everyone who wants to, to learn this. All it takes is practice, like you have to practice to learn to play tennis, to play the piano or to learn a new language.
You and I are both physical and spiritual beings and intuition is our greatest link to our higher selves, our spiritual selves and thus to God. On the mental level we transmit information through every thought we think and each emotion we express. On the spiritual level we become aware of influences and information through intuition. When we lay the groundwork for a spiritual connection to one another and to the higher realms, we sharpen these higher senses of receptivity. Everything we do to become more spiritually attuned improves our ability to understand, interpret and to follow through on the guidance we receive from the universal mind.
The more we become spiritually attuned, the better we can pinpoint the sound of our higher self that has all the answers, the better we can tap in to the universal mind where all the knowledge is, the clearer we can hear the voice of God and to learn to recognize it. When we can do this our life soars to new unimaginable heights and we experience pure joy in everything we do.
